West Ham United played their part in a special red football initiative to promote the 'Lace Up. Save Lives' partnership.
The special Nike (RED) balls was used at all Barclays Premier League fixtures on Saturday, as well as those in Spain's La Liga, Italy's Serie A and a host of other high-profile games across the world as part of the (RED) 'Lace Up. Save Lives' campaign.
A host of high-profile players wore red laces in their boots to show their support, including West Ham's Valon Behrami, Alessandro Diamanti and Carlton Cole and Chelsea's Didier Drogba.
All profits from 'Lace Up. Save Lives' are split equally between The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, which funds AIDS programs that provide medicine, treatment and services for those living with HIV, and football-based community initiatives that deliver education and understanding around HIV/AIDS prevention.
