West Ham United have been well represented this week at the first Soccerex Asian Forum with principal partners SBOBET sponsoring the major global event in Singapore.
SBOBET, who have been associated with the club since December 2008, is one of the world's leading online gaming brands, offering more than 500 sporting events every week. It has extensive coverage of all major football leagues and international sporting events. SBOBET uses the latest technologies to deliver a fast and secure player environment.
Executive Director Bill Mummery was also a guest speaker at the Raffles City Convention Centre and took part in a session about unlocking the Asian market in terms of broadcasting and betting. He also discussed with delegates how the relationship with West Ham United has respectively helped the brand exposure of both the Hammers and SBOBET.
Overall, the two-day programme saw leading football faces from around the world come together to discuss issues such as broadcast rights, football business and online betting. It was the first time Soccerex - a prominent event provider for the global football industry had gathered in south-east Asia, having previously been to London, Dubai and Brasilia.
West Ham United travelled to China in summer 2009 for the Barclays Asia Trophy and continue to explore international possibilities, especially with SBOBET's high standing in major Asian territories. The club is developing its global brand and the forthcoming 2012 Olympics and development of Stratford City in east London will also raise the Hammers' profile at home and abroad.
