West Ham United can confirm Wednesday night's Academy pre-season friendly at Great Wakering Rovers has been postponed.
Tony Carr had been due to take his Under-18s to the south Essex club but Rovers are mourning the sudden death of their general manager Nobby Johnson. Understandably, the match at Burroughs Park has been called off as a mark of respect.
Academy Director Carr said: "This is very sad news. On behalf of the club, I would like to pass on our condolences to everyone at Great Wakering and the family and friends of Nobby. He was a true football man who had done so much for the club and the area."
