Pre-season friendly latest

West Ham United are enjoying a busy pre-season.

The highlight of the summer will be the final fixture before the competitive action begins - a glamour date with RC Deportivo La Coruna of Spain at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday 7 August. The match, which gets under way at 3pm and will be played for the SBOBET Cup in aid of the Academy, will be Avram Grant's first home game in charge of the Hammers.

The Hammers were 2-1 winners against Peterborough United in their first pre-season fixture at Peterborough United on Wednesday 14 July before a 2-0 success against VfL Borussia Monchengladbach in Ruhpolding as part of the Germany training camp on Saturday 17 July. The schedule continued on Friday 23 July just across the border in Austria in Kitzbuhel with a 1-0 win against Greek champions Panathinaikos.

The club were 2-0 winners at MK Dons on Wednesday 28 July, thanks to Carlton Cole's third goal in four games and an opener from Julien Faubert.

The Hammers will then head to Portman Road on Saturday 31 July to take on Ipswich Town. The trip up the A12 to Suffolk for the 3pm fixture promises to be an entertaining game against Roy Keane's side, who ended last season 15th in the Championship.

West Ham last visited Ipswich for a pre-season fixture on 4 August 2008, when Dean Ashton scored a hat-trick in a 5-3 victory for the visitors. Craig Bellamy and Mark Noble were also on target. The final pre-season awayday will be at Southend United on Tuesday 3 August, kick-off at 7.45pm. Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
