West Ham United Ladies will have to wait yet another week to play their FA Women's Cup fourth round tie with Bristol Academy after the Almondsbury Town pitch failed a Friday afternoon inspection
The postponement had looked likely all week with heavy snow falling in the West County, so the Hammers already had plans in place for a friendly fixture to ensure the squad, who have been out of action for several weeks due to the winter weather, had some playing action. Manager Tony Marshall had already arranged for his team to play Ebbsfleet United on the indoor pitch at the David Beckham Academy on Sunday instead.
West Ham will now travel to Bristol on Sunday 24 January in an attempt to earn a home fifth-round match with either Barnet or Colchester United after the sides were paired together in the draw last week.
To help them prepare for the tie, the ladies were going to face a tough midweek task with Arsenal Ladies planning to visit Thurrock FC, but sadly the game has been called off because of the weather.
