Freddie Sears is back in action for Coventry City when they travel to high-flying Newcastle United for a crunch Championship showdown on Wednesday night.
The England Under-21 forward is well aware that he will be closely monitored by the West Ham United management during his three-month loan spell, which began with the weekend 1-0 win against Queen's Park Rangers. The aim is to learn as much as possible from tests such as that posed by a trip to Newcastle away.
"I spoke with the gaffer and Clarkey. They said that they want meat West Ham, they see a future here. But at the moment it would be best for me to go out on loan to play games, that is better for me than just training and playing in the reserves
"The Championship is a very competitive league so I know I will benefit from playing with Coventry and that I can then come back to West Ham stronger than before
"My aim is to be a success at West Ham, that has always been my dream and I know that by going on loan and trying to continue to improve myself, I can come back older and wiser to West Ham stronger than before."
Fellow on-loan forward Frank Nouble got another 90 minutes under his belt on Tuesday night as West Bromwich Albion drew 1-1 at Cardiff City to return to the top of the Championship standings ahead of Newcastle. Nouble is initially at West Brom for a month, and was man of the match on his debut in the 2-0 win against Scunthorpe United on 9 February.
