Joined West Ham United on a season-long loan to the end of the 2010/11 season from Internazionale on 27 August 2010. Made his West Ham United debut in the 3-0 Barclays Premier League defeat by Chelsea on 11 September 2010.
International career
First caught the eye at the 2006 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, scoring in the quarter-final victory over Tunisia....Captained the Super Eagles to the final of the Olympic football tournament in Beijing, scoring three times as Nigeria defeated Japan, United States, Ivory Coast and Belgium on course to winning the Silver Medal...Scored four times in helping Nigeria to qualify for the 2010 World Cup...Appeared at his third Africa Cup of Nations tournament in January 2010, scoring the winner in his country's 1-0 third-place play-off victory over Algeria...Appeared twice at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, starting the 1-0 group-stage defeat by Argentina in Johannesburg.

Began his career with Nigerian clubs Plateau United, Kwara United and Enyimba before moving to Italian side AC Chievo Verona on a five-year contract in July 2005...Scored 19 goals in 82 league matches at Chievo, including helping them to the Serie B title in 2007/08...Moved to Internazionale in summer 2008...Made nine Serie A appearances in his first season with Internazionale in 2008/09...Scored in a 4-0 victory over AS Roma as the Nerazzurri won the title for a third consecutive season....Spent the 2009/10 season on loan at Spanish La Liga side Malaga CF, scoring four goals in 26 league appearances.
