West Ham United are delighted that ticket prices of just £5 for kids and £10 for adults have been agreed with Oxford United for the Carling Cup second-round tie.
The significant price reduction was part of the club's bid to thank supporters for their loyal backing once again this year, with season tickets and memberships being snapped up in their thousands. A bumper Boleyn Ground crowd is expected on Tuesday 24 August, with the Hammers looking to show they mean business in every match they play.
The club would also like to thank Oxford for their co-operation in the matter, which means with their help that as many supporters as possible will be able to see what could be a memorable Boleyn Ground night under the lights.
There is plenty of promise for an exciting evening, with manager Avram Grant's squad full of optimism for the new season. The manager has a fine cup pedigree, having reached the UEFA Champions League final and FA Cup final in 2008 and 2010 respectively. Hopes will be high that the Hammers - boasting several new signings - can enjoy a long run in the competition.
Tickets priced at £5 for Under-16s and £10 for adults are on sale to season ticket holders from today. Members can buy their tickets from Wednesday 18 August with general sale following from Thursday 19 August. With prices greatly reduced, fans are urged to make sure of their seats as soon as possible.
