West Ham United's new Macron home kit for the 2010/11 season is officially on sale.
Following on from the hugely successful launch of the away kit last month, there was much anticipation over the new shirt. Once again, the design is classic but cutting edge. Most striking is the stylish collar and the return to blue sleeves - while using modern material and state of the art breathable fabric. Like the away shirt, it is the result of the designers listening to fan feedback and an extensive review of photos of past Hammers heroes.
The shirt will be complemented by white shorts and white socks and the complete kit was worn for the first time when RC Deportivo La Coruna arrived for the SBOBET Cup in aid of the Academy on Saturday.
Carlton Cole, who has started the pre-season campaign in sparkling form with four goals in five matches this summer, was one of the first to try it for size. He said: "It looks good, the material is nice and I think it will do well. I like the kit and hopefully we can win some games in it."
Season ticket holders and corporate members were invited to another exclusive shopping evening on Wednesday night to enable them to buy it first. Members were then able to get in store early on Thursday morning - with both events following on from similar exclusive events around the away kit launch.
