Spence in England fold

West Ham United defender Jordan Spence could be the first Hammer to pull on an international shirt this summer after being named in England's squad for their UEFA Under-19 Championship Elite Round qualifiers

England take on Bosnia-Herzegovina at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium on Wednesday 27 May before contesting further qualifiers against Slovakia, on Friday 29 Mayat Bradford City's Valley Parade, and Scotland, at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane on Monday 1 June.

Should Brian Eastick's team top Elite Round Group 6, they will qualify for the eight-team final tournament, which will be held in Ukraine at the end of July.

Spence is back at Chadwell Heath following a successful loan spell at League One side Leyton Orient, where he made 21 league and cup appearances. The versatile defender, who can play at right-back or centre-back, has captained England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 levels.

Eastick has named an 18-man squad including Manchester United pair Danny Welbeck and Danny Drinkwater and highly-rated Aston Villa forward Nathan Delfouneso.
