James 'Jimmy' Naden
4 October 1956 - 12 June 2009
At the age of only 52, Jimmy passed away after bravely battling against cancer. However, in his life, he had two great loves. The first was his family and the second was the claret and blue of West Ham United
Jimmy may not have been born in the East End, but he had a family connection with this part of London, through his mother. She was evacuated from the East End to Macclesfield during World War II.
He was an active member of the North West Hammers, attending and supporting the Hammers, when they played in the North of England and he would undertake regular pilgrimages over the seasons, to watch the Hammers play at Upton Park.
He always cited that his greatest moments as a West Ham fan was; standing on the hallowed turf of Upton Park as a child in 1965, the World Cup win in 1966, sharing his passion for the Hammers with his family, all the FA Cups and standing amongst our fans, after we were promoted back into the Premiership through the play-off final in Cardiff.
Jimmy will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by all his family, friends, and colleagues at Macclesfield District General Hospital, where, he worked as electrical team leader.
