West Ham United will hope history will repeat itself when they meet Middlesbrough in a major FA Cup encounter on Wednesday night.
Before the fifth-round replay at the Riverside, many fans have recalled the momentous events of 23 April 2006. On that day, the club were 1-0 winners against Boro at Villa Park in the 2005/06 semi-finals to earn a place in the Cardiff showpiece. Marlon Harewood scored the only goal of the game in the 78th minute to spark mass celebrations on a day that was also notable for tributes to the late great John Lyall, who had passed away that week.
