Lyall tribute to be held

John Lyall will be honoured with a Heritage Foundation blue plaque to be unveiled at the Boleyn Ground next Sunday.

Club legends including Sir Geoff Hurst, Sir Trevor Brooking and Billy Bonds will be at the ceremony along with the former manager's friends and family. Lyall served the club to distinction for 34 years as a schoolboy to manager and oversaw two FA Cup triumphs as well as the best-ever league season in 1985/86. After a retirement in Suffolk he died suddenly in April, 2006 aged only 66.
