Zamora backing Hammers to beat drop

Bobby Zamora is backing the Hammers to remain in the Premiership with confidence high after Saturday's 1-0 win over Everton.

Goal-scorer Bobby said: "We have got a real chance but we have to win those remaining games and that's the tough part. There are five teams down there that can all fall into the bottom three. It won't be done until the final day."

Looking ahead to this week's crucial trip to Wigan, Bobby added: "It'll be a massive game and a tough one. But if we work as hard as we did against Everton then it's definitely possible.

"We've got a few games left and the other teams around us have got some very hard games. So we have to work as hard as we possibly can and get as many points as we can."

Bobby's fitness is imperative to the Hammers' form, but the leading goalscorer has been suffering with a knee problem.

"It's just cramp, that's what I get out there," he explained. "Doing the right wing shift as well and tracking back doesn't help. The anti-inflammatory medicine I'm on doesn't really help with the cramps either so it's a catch 22. But I'll battle through it and keep going."
