A brand new state of the art lighting system has been installed at Upton Park to help the turf grow quicker and stronger than ever.
The SGL lighting concept as it is known is already in use at the Emirates Stadium, White Hart Lane and Twickenham and the idea behind the system is to ensure light is directed onto the pitch 24 hours a day to ensure quicker stress recovery and stronger growth between home matches.
It is particularly useful when the winter sets in and there are fewer hours of daylight, as the extra temperature the lighting creates will help to germinate the seeds in the grass.
