Reserves beaten by Chelsea

West Ham United's reserve team suffered a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea on Monday evening.

In a closely-fought match at Aldershot FC's Recreation Ground, Hammers couldn't find the breakthrough in front of goal, and ended up on the losing side for the fifth successive match this season.

Chelsea took the lead on 41 minutes through striker Ben Sahar, before substitute Miroslav Stoch added a killer second in stoppage time at the end of 90 minutes, just moments after Blues keeper Yves Makabu-Makalambay had produced the save of the match to deny Hogan Ephraim an equaliser.

Hammers: Blackmore; Mears, Dailly, Ngala, Widdowson; Pantsil, Mascherano, Collison, Reid; Ephraim, Jeffery.
