West Ham United In The Community are offering youngsters with youth football clubs or schools the chance to experience life as a professional footballer at Upton Park thanks to their new Football Education Days.
Organised on a Saturday when the first team have an away
fixture, the day is designed to give an insight into the match
preparations of the senior stars at Upton Park. Also on hand is
information regarding their recovery, the treatment of injuries,
diet and nutrition (with meal suggestions for young players).
The day begins with the participants being asked to change for a
practical coaching session in the first team changing room. The
participants are then lead through the tunnel to the pitch, with
all parents asked to observe from the stand.
Then follows...
A practical coaching session (pitch side)
Warming up exercises with and without a ball, including examples of
SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) drills.
Please note, all practical drills delivered imitate the first team
squad as seen in their training sessions.
Ground Tour
Participants and parents are led to the dug out areas, changing
rooms and Chairman's suite (if available). Throughout the tour,
information will be supplied on players' pre and post-match
routines.
