Hogan Ephraim was on the scoresheet for his country on
Wednesday afternoon, as England Under-19s rounded off their UEFA
preparatory tournament in Austria with a 1-1 draw against
Italy.
The 18-year-old Hammers striker netted an 80th minute equaliser from the penalty spot to secure a point for the young Lions, but the result wasn't enough to see England finish top of the group in the four-team tournament, after they had already claimed draws against Spain and Austria earlier in the week.
Hogan will now be looking to help England qualify for the European Under-19 Championship finals, which take place next summer, also in Austria.
There was good news for two more of Upton Park's international stars on Wednesday, as Danny Gabbidon helped Wales to a vital 3-1 win against Cyprus in their Euro 2008 qualifier at the Millennium Stadium, while Roy Carroll was an unused substitute as Northern Ireland continued their impressive run of form with a 1-0 victory over Latvia in Belfast.
