West Ham United fans are being invited to select the
Premier League players they think will make the biggest impact on
this summer's 2006 FIFA World Cup, by entering the Fantasy
Premier League International game at www.premierleague.com
The official FA Premier League game, which is free to enter, gives fantasy managers the chance to select a squad of 12 players from Premier League clubs who have made their country's World Cup squads as well as one of the managers from the 32 participating nations. Points will be awarded based on performance in 2006 FIFA World Cup matches.
Hammers fans wanting to back the sole Upton Park representative at the finals will be able to include Trinidad and Tobago's Shaka Hislop in goal, alongside the likes of Thierry Henry and Steven Gerrard.
The game includes a private league feature that allows managers the chance to compete with friends and colleagues. Managers will also be competing for a first prize of a VIP trip to a Barclays Premiership match.
Martin Axford, manager of premierleague.com, said: "There will be over 80 players from Premier League clubs looking to leave their mark on this summer's big event. Fantasy Premier League International will give fans from across the globe the chance to predict which players from the world's most exciting league will make the biggest impact."
Fans wishing to enter a team into Fantasy Premier League International should visit: http://fpli.premierleague.com or alternatively go to www.premierleague.com and visit the 'Game On' section.
