Bobby Zamora insists there was never any danger of Hammers
dropping their standards for the final day visit of Tottenham
Hotspur.
Despite Alan Pardew's men having already secured a top 10 Premiership finish and with next week's FA Cup final to look forward to, the Upton Park faithful enjoyed a day to remember as Hammers ran out 2-1 winners against our north London rivals - a display that came as no surprise to Bobby.
"It was a great performance by everyone," he says. "There was no chance of us taking the game lightly - it was a London derby and we wanted to go out and beat them for the supporters and for ourselves.
"We also had a duty to be professional. We'd have taken a lot of criticism if the performance had been poor and we lost the game, so no-one can complain about that now.
"And more than anything, we wanted to finish with a win in front of the home fans to end as high up the table as possible. It's a fantastic achievement after coming up from the Championship last year, and we've had some great performances and victories this season.
"For me personally, it's just lovely to be playing at the moment and in with a chance of appearing in an FA Cup final next week. I still feel fresh and fit, and fingers crossed, I'll win a place in that starting line-up."
