Deano shares the glory

Two-goal hero Dean Ashton insisted on sharing the glory with his team-mates after Hammers reached the FA Cup semi-finals on Monday night.

The £7million striker struck in each half to lead Alan Pardew's men to a 2-1 win over Manchester City but, after taking the plaudits for his match-winning performance, made it clear that the limelight would be shared among the squad.

"Obviously it was nice to score the goals," said Dean, "but I'm more pleased for all the lads. The squad has worked hard all season and tonight was another terrific team performance.

"Before the game, I had a feeling that it would be our night, and I was just delighted that we got the reward that our performance deserved.

"The support behind us was fantastic tonight and now it's going to be a fantastic day out for everyone. An FA Cup semi-final is very special and it would be a dream to go on and win the trophy."
