Strength in reserve

Kevin Keen has named a strong reserve team to take on Portsmouth at the Boleyn Ground this evening.

The Hammers coach is able to call upon a wealth of first team experience, including goalkeeper Shaka Hislop, who plays against his former club, and defender James Collins, who has seen his senior chances restricted recently by the return from injury of Danny Gabbidon.

Also in action is Mark Noble, continuing his recovery from illness, while Carl Fletcher joins him in the centre of midfield. Up front, Israeli striker Yaniv Katan starts following his Premiership debut at Aston Villa on Saturday, and he is partnered by Jeremie Aliadiere.

Hammers fans heading to the game will also get to see promising England youth internationals James Tomkins and Hogan Ephraim in action, while 21-year-old French midfielder Sekou Baradji is included after returning from a loan spell at Reading.

Team to face Portsmouth: Hislop; Collins, Tomkins, Blewitt, Clarke; Ephraim Noble, Fletcher, Baradji; Katan, Aliadiere. Subs from: Mikolanda, Kemal (GK), White, Andrews, Reid, Hines, Widdowson.

The game kicks off at 7pm and admission, via the Dr Martens stand lower tier, is free to season ticket holders, or £3 for adults and £1 for under-16s/OAPs.
