Pards: Let's roll up our sleeves for a battle

Alan Pardew says Saturday's clash with Bolton Wanderers will be a case of "rolling up the sleeves" and getting stuck in to win the battle.

"What we need to do right now is stabilise ourselves quickly, climb the league and set our standards as high as possible," says the Hammers boss. "It's a battle and we won't hide from anything, but the focus has to be on what's happening now.

"I don't want to be in the situation we are in at the moment come February. What I want to be talking about is an outside chance of Europe for us. The league is that tight. Two quick wins can push us into 11th place.

"We need to get results regardless of the opposition. We have Bolton away and then Manchester United at home the following week, there's no reason why we can't get results from those, that's how you approach it. We will attack both matches and look to get something.

"It is not a case of let's get these two games out of the way and try and win the next one. We want to win at Bolton and we will have to roll our sleeves up for a battle.

"Everyone at West Ham United, not just the players and I, know that it's a very important time coming up for us now."
