Fans offered chance to join Prince's Trust party

To celebrate the 10,000 young people who have been helped by the Princes Trust Football Initiative, football fans now have the opportunity to win a fantastic prize to join the Prince's Trust 30th Birthday celebrations.

One lucky winner will win two tickets to a star-studded concert at the Tower of London on Saturday, May 20, including free transport and accommodation.

The event, to be hosted by Ant and Dec, Vernon Kay and Kate Thornton, and broadcast live on TV, will see artists such as Pink, Annie Lennox, Sugababes, Embrace, Lionel Richie, Ronan Keating and Barry and Robin Gibb from the Bee Gees taking to the stage.

The Prince's Trust Football Initiative is a partnership between the Premier League, Professional Footballers' Association and the Football Foundation and sees programmes run at 63 Premier League and Football League clubs.

The partnership helps young people aged between 16 and 25 realise their potential through a comprehensive vocational education programme.

Last year, four in five young people completing Team, the 12-week personal development educational programme, went on to further education, employment or training.

As part of the programme, new 'Get Into' schemes are being piloted at Premier League clubs, aimed at using club facilities to give underachieving 16 to 25 year-olds a taste of working life in areas such as retail, catering, hospitality and leisure.

The partnership also includes Community Sports Leadership Awards designed to give youngsters the relevant skills to enter the leisure industry. The mentoring programme will recruit and train 120 volunteers to provide special support to these young people on a long term basis.

Carol Homden, Commercial Director of The Prince's Trust said: "Our partnership with football enables The Prince's Trust to reach young people who need our help the most. 10,000 young people have already benefited and we are developing new ways to engage even more. To help celebrate the achievements of The Prince's Trust over the last 30 years, we hope football fans across the country will show their support."
