WEST Ham United Ladies drew 1-1 at Langford FC thanks to a late
equaliser from Lindsay Morgan.
For the third week running the Hammers will feel that the result
did not reflect their hard-working performance. A last gasp Lindsay
Morgan header gave the Hammers a point after a defensive slip up in
the opening stages of the first-half gave the home side a lead
against the run of play.
With the conditions more suited to Benidorm than Bedfordshire the
referee used his initiative and allowed drink breaks throughout the
game. Trailing by the only goal of the game at half-time,
Hammers Ladies blitzed the Langford goal in the second-half - Sam
Pittuck, Nicola Dunsdon, Lindsay Morgan and Vicky Bruce all going
close.
West Ham had the greater share of possession but lacked the
finishing touch and it looked as if they would be heading back down
the A1 proping up the League table.
However the leveller from Lindsay Morgan ensured that the Hammers
remained in 10th position out of the 12 sides in the division.
Their next game is against the Millwall Lionesses at Aveley FC on
Wednesday night.

WEST Ham United Ladies Reserves got off to a sprightly start in
their first League game of the season in the National Reserve
Division against Bristol City before losing 3-2.
Amy Bush's header for the Hammers from a corner hit the
crossbar but on 12 minutes Bristol went 1-0 ahead. On 35 minutes
Bristol caught the Hammers defence napping to make it two.
West Ham kept pressing and were rewarded with a penalty which was
slotted home by Sam Thomson to make it 2-1 to Bristol at half-time.
The second half saw the Hammers step up a pace, but were caught out
again giving Bristol a 3 - 1 lead. Sub Laura Allen scored on
80 minutes with a shot from just outside the 18 yard box.
