Ladies Hit Four Past Dons

WEST Ham United Ladies bounced back from defeat to Crystal Palace last week with an emphatic 4-0 triumph over AFC Wimbledon.
Despite losing 5-2 to the Dons earlier in the season in the League Cup the Hammers always looked on top in this game.

West Ham opened the scoring on 12 minutes when a good right wing cross from Sam Pittuck was tapped home by Vicky Lewis. The game stayed at 1-0 for the remainder of the first-half.

Early in the second-half Vicky Lewis got the Hammers second after a one on one with the Dons Keeper.  The Hammers held firm and with 13 minutes remaining substitute Hayley Barton chased what looked like a lost cause, won possession and set up Vicky Bruce who headed home.

Hayley almost got onto the score-sheet herself when with five minutes remaining she hit the cross bar with a pile driver of a shot 18 yards.

With the clock ticking down, a long clearance from Hammers keeper Clare Lacey found Natalie Grafton who volleyed home over the Wimbledon goalkeeper to wrap up an excellent win.

Next weekend the Hammers Ladies have a well earned rest with no fixture but the following Sunday entertain Reading at Aveley FC.

WEST HAM UNITED: Clare Lacey, Carly Roache, Christina Oshikodi, Lindsey Morgan, Kate Turney, Stacey Crump, Nicola Dunsdon, Aoifie Aherne, Vicky Lewis, Sam Pittuck, Kerry Stimpson.  SUBS (All used): Vicky Bruce, Hayley Barton, Natalie Grafton.

The Hammers Ladies Reserves suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Millwall. Manager Andi Woodley however did find some positives from the game. Two debutants performed well, Sabbi Hassan and Ashley Beal; Andi also praised keeper Tracy Sendall and Reserve team captain Angela Murphy.
