MIDFIELDER Yossi Benayoun scored as Israel secured a 2-1 victory
over the Faroe Islands to keep their hopes of qualifying from Group
Four alive.
Yossi gave Israel the perfect start when he opened the scoring
after only 48 seconds. It took until the 90th minute for Israel to
make sure of the win with Michael Zandberg adding a second.
Substitute Sam Samuelsen scored a consolation goal for the Faroe
Islands deep into injury time.
Israel can still qualify for the play-offs, but in a tightly packed
group they must rely on other results going for them on
Wednesday.
