Tomkins In England Under-17 Squad

JAMES Tomkins has once again been called up for the England Under-17s as part of coach John Peacock's 18-man squad for a friendly with Turkey in December.

The squad contains some of the brightest young talent in the country, including Scott Sinclair and Ryan Bertrand, who recently both hit the headlines when they joined Chelsea from Bristol Rovers and Gillingham respectively.  Also in the party is the hugely promising Theo Walcott, who has already been earning rave reviews for his first-team performances with Southampton.

England will play host to Turkey at Meadow Lane, the home of Notts County, on Tuesday 13th December and Peacock has retained much of the squad which took part in the Pepsi Tournament in the West Country in August and September.

As well as Walcott, goalkeeper David Button and defender James Tomkins have plenty of experience after playing for the Under-17s for much of last season.  Birmingham striker Sone Aluko - brother of England Women's striker Eniola - was named on the substitutes' bench for a Premiership match against Arsenal earlier this month.
