ELLIOTT Ward was a late substitute in Plymouth Argyle's 0-0
draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening, and admitted
afterwards that he is hoping to secure some first-team football
with the Pilgrims.
The 20-year-old has moved to Home Park on a month's loan in
search of regular first-team football, and is hoping to figure in
Plymouth's next match against Reading this weekend.
He said: "If I'm involved, I'll be really looking
forward to the challenge. Reading are a great team, who are pushing
Sheffield United all the way this season.
"Hopefully I can impress the manager enough to earn a place in
the Plymouth team. I wanted to stick it out at West Ham to see how
things went.
"In the summer the manager brought in some new players and to
be fair they've done really well so there hasn't been many
opportunities.
"You have just got to push on and try to make yourself a
better player."
