Teddy Receives Championship Player Of The Season Trophy

TEDDY Sheringham was presented with his Powerade Championship Player of the Year award at the Club's Chadwell Heath training ground recently.

The former England star beat off competition from Preston's David Nugent in second place and Reading's Steve Sidwell in third to scoop the coveted award.

Teddy said: "It's fantastic to win this award in my first season at West Ham United. It's always great to receive recognition, but it's the whole team that deserve credit, because we've put together an incredible run over these last 12 games, which has taken us to within one game of a return to the Premiership.

"The determination and application of the players has been fantastic during the run-in and we have got the rewards, in terms of a place in the Play-off Final. Now we have to make sure that we stay focused on the job in hand and make sure we make the most of this opportunity."
