Following the online auction for the Club's former Academy
player Joe Osben, who was badly injured in a road accident last
year, a total of £14,507 was raised.
On behalf of Joe's father Steve and West Ham United we would
like to thank everyone who took part.
The money was distributed as follows:
£2,000 to the King's College Hospital.
The money will be used to purchase an ice blanket for the
children's intensive care unit.
£2,000 to the "Bicycle Helmet Initiative
Trust". The money will be used to purchase and distribute free
cycle helmets to children in deprived areas to ensure that,
wherever possible, children have access to an important piece of
safety equipment regardless of their economic circumstances.
£10,507 to the Chailey Heritage
Rehabilitation Centre. The money will be used to help support
Joe's ongoing treatment as well as purchase vital pieces of
equipment that are much needed by the centre.
