WEST Ham United defender Tomas Repka has apologised to manager
Alan Pardew, his team-mates and Club Directors for the incident
that resulted in him being sent off against Preston on Saturday.
More importantly, he now wishes to offer his sincere apologies to
Hammers supporters.
"I apologise to all our fans for my behaviour during the match
against Preston," said Tomas. "I will do my best to repay
our supporters faith in me when I have served my three-match
suspension and promise to do my best to help the team in its bid
for promotion."
Alan Pardew acted swiftly to discipline the Czech player.
He said: "In light of the incident on Saturday I've fined
Tomas the maximum two weeks wages and warned him of his future
conduct.
"The red card was a great shame because Tomas has had a vastly
improved disciplinary record this season.
"However, I cannot afford to condone this type of behaviour
and will not tolerate it in the future. I've made this very
clear to Tomas and he has accepted the punishment.
"We now have to put this incident behind us and concentrate on
preparing for a tough game at Reading on Saturday."
