WEST Ham United Under-18s have drawn 0-0 against Crystal Palace at
Little Heath.
The game began with the play bogged down in midfield and that was
pretty much where it stayed during a first-half of precious few
goalscoring opportunities.
The most noteworthy incidents of the first 45 minutes were a
scorching volley by trailist Richard Georgio that flew
just over the bar and Liam White's touch to Densal
Davidson's free-kick that diverted the ball into the Palace
net, only for the referee to rule the goal out for offside.
After the break the game rumbled reluctantly into life, but still
goalscoring opportunities were hard to find at either end. Hammers
goalkeeper Darren Behcet was forced to make two good saves, while
Sos Yao had the home side's best effort on goal, firing just
wide after being set-up by Ishmael Welsh.
David Cowley showed plenty of industry along with a generous
smattering of skill in midfield, yet Tony Carr's side failed to
find the killer touch as the game finished 0-0.
WHU: Behcet; Henry, Andrews, White, Tomkins, Georgio, Shaw (Stokes
80), Cowley, Davidson (Ephraim 76), Yao, Welsh (Reid 80).
