Bobby On His Fantastic Festive Form!

BOBBY Zamora made it three out of three League starts last night when he netted again to secure a crucial three points for the Hammers away to Everton and the striker couldn't hide his delight at his recent form.

"It's going really well for me at the moment and I'm really pleased. I've managed to score in the last three games, all away from home, and now we've got another great result at Everton.

"Goodison Park is a really tough place to go, and they were on the up as well after a few good results. So to take three points is massive for us. It was about the whole team. Everyone game 110 per cent and that's what you need when you come to places like Everton.

"It was a tough game and in the first-half we probably weren't at our best in terms of breaking them down, although the lads showed a lot of character to come back after going behind so early.

"But in the second-half we really dug deep and produced a great spell of football, where we carved out two or three really good chances.
"Every one of our players had a great game, and to win away from home in the Premiership that's what you have to do.

It was a classic poachers goal for Bobby to take his tally for the season to six in all competitions, but that is what being a striker is all about.

"For the goal Matty made a great run and hit a terrific shot. The keeper has made a good save, but as a striker you have to be in the right place at the right time and fortunately I was there to tap it in."

Bobby has started every match on this tough away run of games and found the back of the net in every one, so for him personally it is fantastic to take six points from them and if anything he is disappointed they didn't take more.

"We were disappointed after the Blackburn game, but we knew that we hadn't played badly and if we kept putting in the effort then we'd get something from it. Three away games in a row is a tough run for any side, but taking six points from those games just shows how far the team has come. It's a terrific effort, and when you consider that all three teams are ones competing in our region of the table they were really important matches to get results from.

"This is such a hard working team, and home or away you can see how we play for each other and force things to happen. In both the games against Everton and Birmingham we've come from behind to win games away from home. That takes a lot of character and this team has certainly got plenty of that."
