WEST Ham United is pleased to announce that striker Marlon Harewood
has signed a new five year contract with the Club.
The 26-year-old top-scored for West Ham United in all competitions
last season with 22 goals as Alan Pardew's team won promotion
back to the Premier League. And Marlon was part of the team that
secured a memorable 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in Saturday's
Premiership opener.
Marlon arrived at the Club for £500,000 from Nottingham Forest
in November 2003, having made over 50 League appearances during
four years at the City Ground.
Now he has helped fire Alan Pardew's men to the Premiership,
Marlon is determined to help Hammers make a big impact on the
top-flight this season.
"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract with the
Club," said Marlon. "The atmosphere and spirit within the
squad is fantastic at the moment and I'm proud to be a
part of the team.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Club so far and
winning promotion last season was without doubt one of the best
moments of my career. Hopefully, we can look forward to more
success like that in the future.
"We got off to a great start with the result against Blackburn
on Saturday and it's given us a lot of confidence going into
the trip to Newcastle. It's a great starting point for us to
build on this season."
