NEW signings Clive Clarke and Shaka Hislop have been named in the
squad which has travelled to Holland to take on FC Den Haag in a
pre-season friendly match this evening.
Pards has also included Mark Noble in the travelling party and the
England Youth international could make his first appearance of the
pre-season campaign this evening, after missing the last two weeks
due to England duty in the UEFA European Under-19 Championships.
Israeli international Yossi Benayoun could feature in the game
having made two substitute appearances in the last two friendlies
against TSV 1860 Munich and Crystal Palace.
Striker Petr Mikolanda, who has been awarded a contract at Upton
Park after impressing on a two-week trial, has returned from the
Czech Republic to make the trip, while fellow countryman Mario
Licka is also in Holland hoping to follown in Mikolanda's
footsteps and impress the Hammers on trial.
Bobby Zamora returns after missing the Crystal Palace game with
tendonitis, while Gavin Williams has also travelled despite limping
out of the Palace game after a heavy challenge from Gary
Borrowdale.
The team to face Den Haag will be chosen from the following squad:
Hislop (GK), Reed (GK), Repka, Mackay, Newton, Williams, Noble,
Mullins, Chadwick, Benayoun, Harewood, Zamora, Dailly, Collins,
Clarke, Licka, Mikolanda, Fletcher, Ward.
