"Everyone was gutted; we played quite well to get the lead and then we conceded two goals in a mad last 10 minutes - it was heartbreaking because I thought we had three points in the bag.
"It was a great finish by the lad but I thought we deserved three points, never mind one - hopefully we can bounce back on Wednesday night.
"We should be closing games out and we had chances to score more than we did, so it is very disappointing."
Luke denies that the emotion of the occasion had any effect on the players and adds:
"It was a great send-off for a great person in football - but once the game started I think everyone was just concentrating on that.
"It was a great atmosphere and everyone enjoyed that, apart from losing the game, obviously."
Luke says the team must make amends at Derby - another of Cloughie's old clubs - on Wednesday and concludes:
"It is another hard game at Derby but if we play as well as we did at Forest we can get the three points.
"I am sure the lads can't wait to get to Derby and out in a good performance."
