Academy Report V Bristol City

Academy director Tony Carr admits he has mixed feelings about the 2-2 draw with Bristol City at the weekend.

West Ham's youth team went 2-0 down inside 20 minutes and Tony says:

"It was a poor opening to the game but we pulled one back when Kyle Reed - who was a constant threat - set up Ollie Allen to make it 2-1.

"After that we peppered their goal and it was like the Alamo - we missed chances, had one disallowed, and hit the post before Moses Ashikodi got the equaliser.

"It was a good response after conceding the two goals - as our defenders said, 'poxy' goals, but we just couldn't get the third in.

"I have mixed feelings because of the goals we conceded but at least we showed good spirit, and all credit to the lads for that."
