Alan Pardew says the Carling Cup draw with Chelsea will produce a
real "buzz" in training in the lead-up to the game.
Reacting to the draw that takes his side to Stamford Bridge next month, he says:
"I am absolutely delighted for our fans that we have pulled a draw against Chelsea out of the hat.
"One thing is for sure - it will generate a real buzz at the training ground amongst the players and staff.
"This is one to get really excited about - I am certain we will easily sell all our allocation of tickets and the fans will have a great night out at Stamford Bridge."
Previous history in the competition involves just one game - a decade ago, when Don Hutchison struck to give West Ham a 1-0 win.
