Nigel: A Fair Haul

Nigel Reo-Coker reckons that seven points out of nine is a decent return for last week's efforts.

"It is not a bad reflection but obviously we would have loved to have had all nine points," he says, reflecting on wins at Sheffield United and at home to Rotherham, coupled with the draw at the weekend against Ipswich.

Looking at the 1-1 draw with the Tractor Boys, he adds:

"We have worked really hard, and I think that Saturday was a fair result.

"Ipswich were good opposition and are one of the better sides in the Championship.

"It was a good, entertaining football game against them and I believe that we showed some great movement, playing some great stuff.

"We started so well and if the penalty had gone in it could have been a whole different game but it didn't so we have to get on with things and work even harder."

As for his own performances - and the need to maintain a high standard with Steve Lomas coming back - he adds:

"I have been happy; you can only do it to the best of your ability, but I am not really someone that judges my own performances - I leave that to the fans and the people that are watching."

Nigel hopes to continue his run of games against Notts.County on Tuesday, and adds:

"I am feeling fine for Tuesday - you just take every game as it comes, play every match like it is like your last one - and then look forward to the next game.

"It will be nice if we have a big crowd on Tuesday and maybe that will help us win."

As for his new team mates, and the fact that four players arrived in international week and have made an immediate impact, Nigel says:

"I am not surprised at how quickly the new lads have fitted in; it has been nice, we have made them feel welcome since their first day and comfortable in training and everything.

"I am happy they have settled in well and it has helped them on the pitch."

As for the promotion race overall, he concludes:

"It is still early doors and anything can happen; we could be tenth with seven games to go like we were last time and still get promotion."
