"It is an easy place to fit in - there are good people here and myself, Calum, Fletch, and Chris have been welcomed into the dressing room very easily by both staff and players - it has been a joy to be working here for the last few days," says Malky, who was praised by Alan Pardew for his full debut against Rotherham after a brief cameo at Sheffield United at the weekend.
"It has been different after being seven years at another club where you get used to the same people and places but it is another chance to achieve things.
"I have been involved in the national team recently and if I wasn't going to play at Norwich I wanted to play football here where there is a good chance of promotion."
Of the win over Rotherham, he adds:
"I was delighted to make my home debut but more so by getting the three points and a clean sheet - it was fantastic to play in front of the Upton Park faithful and it is much different playing at Upton Park in claret and blue.
"I knew West Ham was a massive club but, having been here nearly a week now, and seeing the people and facilities at the club, it just reaffirms everything.
"It is great to be involved and get into the bricks because when I played on Saturday I hadn't been to the ground - so I am pleased to have got into the changing rooms now and played at home.
"The fans enjoyed the win and Rotherham are a potential banana skin - they will go to a lot of clubs and get something.
"They don't give you a lot of chances, they make sure they stay deep and don't let you put a lot of ball behind him.
"1-0 will do for the whole season - get the wins and keep as many clean sheets as possible and if we go through the whole campaign winning by that margin I don't mind that."
Assessing the weekend, he concludes:
"Ipswich are a good passing team and that will be tough but we are coming off the back of two wins and we have the chance to get into the top area and the boys are looking forward to it."
