Pards: Plenty To Pick

Alan Pardew knows that with a trio of players - Chris Powell, Calum Davenport, and Carl Fletcher - available for selection again, he will have plenty of options for the trip to Plymouth this weekend.

"That is what you want - and I think the one thing about this squad is that they do respect each other now.

"They know if I don't select them they have a good character in front of them and there is no one pulling the wool over anyone's eyes.

"They are all having a go to the best of their ability and I think that respect is the most important thing when you are trying to build a promotion winning team."

Storms have been predicted in the West Country and Alan says:

"I am hoping the weather down that part of the country holds a wee bit because it could level things up if there is too much of a gale down there.

"But we are going there in good spirits; we are looking forward to it and we want to make our away form better - because we have certainly performed better than the points total shows.

"Hopefully we will have a bit of luck as well - and get the three points."
