Chris, who has a groin strain, played through pain at the weekend but admits the side's performance was below par at Loftus Road.
"We just didn't perform on the day and conceded a sloppy goal - as well as the fact we didn't fashion too many chances," he admits.
"For a London derby that is not good enough; we competed and the work ethic was good but obviously we have got to create chances and try and feed the front men.
"On the whole we only had two chances although we restricted them; for such a good game, fourth against fifth at the time, we should be creating more.
"We had a bit of a spell in the first half but during that time we conceded and that put us on the back foot.
"They have a way of playing, they pressurise you and spoil the way you perform, so fair play to them, that is what they are good at - but we really need to get back on the winning trail.
"Winning breeds confidence and they are a confident side with big Furlong up front that they play off.
"They stick to it; they have got a very enthusiastic manager, the crowd back them, and they are obviously on a high.
"For us, having beaten Wolves, we took a step forward and then one back again, so we are always trying to fight against losing the next game.
"When you lose one winning your next game is so important because you can take something from it and start again - but if you lose again that can become a habit.
"There are a lot of games in this league and sometimes you don't have enough time to reflect on the previous game, you have to put it to bed and look forward to it, which is what we are doing.
"It is disappointing to lose a London derby or any game but we have to move forward and get back to winning ways - and put one over on QPR when they visit soon."
