"I pulled my hamstring in the final minute of the reserve game last week but the other injury that I got when playing for England U21s doesn't bother me any more," he says.
"I ran today and I am in tomorrow - then hopefully training with the boys on Friday."
Anton had to pull out of international duty for the U21s as a result of his injury, and he adds:
"I am missing the England games coming up but more importantly I am frustrated at not being able to compete for a place in the West Ham side.
"That has been a big blow because the injury has come at the wrong time for me - but it is one of those things I have to deal with and, I have to make sure when I come back I get my place in the team.
"As for the possibility of going on loan, that is up to the gaffer, but if I am not playing for West Ham it may be the best thing for me because I need to play first team football.
"If it happens it can only be good for West Ham United because it would mean when I come back I am even more ready than I am now."
Anton, who has started in his favoured centre half position this season - a mark of the progress he is making - adds:
"I was happy with my start to the season because I got first team games and getting into the England U21 squad was a very big bonus for me."
Anton has seen fellow centre halves Malky Mackay and Calum Davenport join the club during the campaign - and he has no complaints about that.
"The squad is bigger and better and the gaffer has brought some good players to the team and the squad - competition for places is fierce and that can only make us better," he insists.
Meanwhile, Anton is looking forward to seeing brother Rio return to England duty at Old Trafford on Saturday against Wales.
"Fingers crossed he does play and to see him back in an England shirt will be great," says Anton.
"I am definitely going to watch him - he comes and supports me so I will be happy to support him again, and I'll be shouting loud for him."
