Tony Carr says that his Academy side could have caused an upset
against Southampton on Saturday before they eventually went down
4-1.
"The score didn't tell the story," he insists.
"Kyle Reed put us a goal up early in the second half but two or three minutes later they equalised - and that knocked the stuffing out of us.
"If we had held on a bit longer we might have caused an upset because, since they have won 12 out of 12, they weren't used to the situation.
"In the end we were making substitutions and chasing the game and we looked a bit ragged.
"We capitulated in the later stages and we were in a sorry state at the end.
"It was not as emphatic as the score suggests but were disappointed - but we did have a younger side."
