Ironically, Mark's injury comes in a week when he has moved up the pecking order in midfield following the sale of Adam Nowland to Nottingham Forest, and he says:
"Good luck to him; that is a good move for him because obviously he wasn't playing here - he is a good footballer and I think he will do well there."
Mark actually came on as substitute for Adam at Chelsea in the Carling Cup recently, and he says:
"He was doing fine but it was good for me to come on - and I was just overwhelmed to be coming on at Stamford Bridge."
As for the injury, he says:
"Counago just fell on my ankle and it twisted where I had done it a month or so ago.
"It had healed all right, and it was so unlucky for that to happen - so I will just get fit again, doing rehab at the pool, and crack on with the rest of the season.
"I am just pleased it is nothing too serious but it is a gutter because I was just getting fit again."
