"We were aggrieved at the way the game was run and we made that clear after but hopefully that frustration will spur us on for Cardiff," he says.
Alan is expecting another rousing atmosphere at Ninian Park and he adds:
"Every fixture we look at we are still the biggest pull so they will be really hyped up for it and we can expect a tough game and a hostile reception."
He knows that when the Hammers are in town it is an eagerly-awaited fixture and adds:
"The standard of the performance was high; we were really up against a team who were charging at us and that would have been a difficult fixture for any team if they were wearing West Ham shirts.
"It will be interesting to see what Plymouth's attendance is for the next game and how much they are up for it for their next period of games at home.
"They certainly treated it like a cup final and we had to contend with that, which was tough for us - but the players did that well."
Sergei Rebrov has been added to the squad that travelled to Wales and Alan says:
"Sergei travelled with us today, we trained well this morning, and the guys are looking forward to it; we want to get up that league as quickly as we can and a positive result at Cardiff would be a good tonic for us."
