He feels it is a fitting tribute to a player who has missed only just over 300 minutes of the 5,000 plus West Ham have played in a gruelling season.
And, at a rate of a goal approximately every 1,666 minutes, he could have done his average no end of good if he had also notched in the first half as well with a blistering first time strike that produced a full length save from Kelvin Davis.
"It is tremendous that Christian got the second; he was so unlucky with his strike in the first half so everyone was buzzing for him after the game," says Bobby - not normally given to being happy when a defender scores!
Now he is looking forward to the final in just over a week, and he says:
"There is obviously quite a lot to do and it is going to be a battle - they are a good side and it is going to be tough."
Bobby, a Hammers fan himself of course, would have been in the crowd shouting himself hoarse had he not been playing, and he adds:
"A few of my mates were there on Tuesday!
"It was an unbelievable atmosphere - and I expect much the same at Cardiff as well."
Now comes the question of getting tickets for all his mates and he adds:
"I have had plenty of phone calls and texts and it will be carnage trying to get enough tickets.
"It is a long old season, there have been a lot of ups and downs, and it would be lovely to get the win."
