Important Rail Information For The Play-off Final

On Saturday 29th  May, a large crowd will be travelling to Cardiff for the 1st Division Play Off Final at the Millennium Stadium, a short walk from Cardiff Central Station.

First Great Western run a number of services from London Paddington to Cardiff in time for the 1500 kick off.  However all trains will be very busy and it is essential that you reserve a seat prior to travelling.

Compulsory Reservations and Boarding Controls

To avoid severe overcrowding, boarding controls will be in operation at London Paddington and Reading stations, giving priority to customers with reservations. Fans who have not made reservations prior to travelling are not guaranteed to arrive in Cardiff in time for the match.

Alcohol Free

On the advice of the British Transport Police, all First Great Western services to and from Cardiff will be dry, with no alcohol allowed on board.

After the Match Arrangements

 For safety reasons, a queuing system will be operating after the match, limiting the number of people allowed into Cardiff Central Station.  Seat reservations will not be available on return services after the match but will operate on a first come, first serve basis.

Station Facilities

There are no left luggage facilities available at Cardiff Central Station. The station closes after the departure of the last train and there are no overnight facilities.
