A West Ham XI lost 3-2 to Tottenham on Thursday afternoon in a
behind-closed- doors friendly.
"It was a good training round workout and a good exercise in terms of what we wanted the game for - it was mostly for Rufus Brevett's benefit," says Tony Carr.
"There were two well matched teams and it could have been a draw but Graeme Carrick just missed one right at the end."
Rufus came through the full 90 minutes - his second in succession after playing for the reserves on Monday.
Kevin Horlock also played, as did Adam Nowland, who scored both West Ham goals.
